About Me

Hi friends and welcome! I am Jamie Janssen and I want to welcome you to The Jaunty Journey! I currently live in Wyoming but am a small-town Nebraska-born country girl, GO BIG RED! I grew up in the Northwestern section of Nebraska on my family’s farm, working cattle, going round and round in the tractor and driving dirt roads are still some of my favorite things to do today! I am known for my vibrant personality, my empathetic soul, and my passion for helping others.

I struggled my entire life with self-worth, self-love, and self-confidence. I was the chubby girl with short hair, a real tomboy who lived in the shadow of her younger brother. I never felt pretty enough, smart enough or worthy of love. Over the years, I did not have a lot of relationships, but I had a ton of friends. Still, on the inside, I was lonely, broken and lost. A dark cloud loomed over me for years as I struggled to find love for myself and often wondered if I would ever find anyone who would love me.

Although I struggled with myself, I could always see other people’s beauty, inside and out, and I wanted to be able to give people happiness and love through the lens of my camera. I embarked on a journey to Northwest college for photography and was blessed with so much more than gained knowledge. I was blessed with finding my soulmate and best friend as I met my wife at a local pub. The day I met Kacee is the day I came alive inside! I didn’t know I was gay, or at least I cannot say I “knew,” but for the first time in a long time I felt happy! But with that happiness came pain, because I wasn’t sure I was going to be accepted not only by society but by the people who mean the most to me. Would they still love me? Was I going to be judged and looked at differently with this new title? No matter how you look at it, it’s a title. I feared my life would be “less messy” as a fraud than as my true self, but I was wrong because acceptance and unconditional love poured out and Kacee and I have been together for eleven years, married for three!

After college I made the decision to follow the career path of banking. In my late 20’s this career path made sense: I needed stability, a salary, insurance, and of course paid vacations. Everyone’s dream, right? While working in the banking industry as a manager, I was able to fulfill part of that coach inside of me, but it wasn’t enough! In July of 2021 I decided to take a leap of faith and leave my corporate job to chase my dream!

That decision was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, but the most fulfilling! I was at my lowest low in 2020, my marriage was on the rocks, I was using alcohol to cope with the depression, anxiety, stress and having panic attacks which put me on a fast track to self-destruction. I started collaborating with a coach which jump started my motivation. Then I started researching relationships, self-sabotage, depression, anxiety, confidence, and I began my own journey!

I am taking The Jaunty Journey and becoming the self-confident woman I have always dreamed of being! I am a good coach because I am always willing to work on myself, I am constantly learning and trying new things, I am honest and I too am, “going through it”! I know that there are good days and bad days, and that both are important for your growth!
